What's your point?

'mkbootfloppy' isn't a part of Slackware, so why did you think it would be
supported here, much les with your cryptic error message?

The only results I see froma google search for 'mkbootfloppy' is for other
distros like CRUX & Knoppix.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=mkbootfloppy&btnG=Google+Search

If it's not on the Slackware CD's, it's not supported here.
Why are you trying to use that script as opposed to just dd'ing the kernel
onto a floppy?

If you want support for Crux the you need to go here:
http://crux.nu/mailinglist.html

Creating a Crux installation has nothing whatsoever to do w/ Slackware,
especially when you're asking about some script that came from another
distro.

Furthermore, creating a kernel boot disk is covered by the HOWTO.

The Linux Bootdisk HOWTO
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO/other-formats/html_single/Bootdisk-HOWTO.html

Then obviously, you're asking in the wrong place.
However, there's been lots and lots of posts about how to optimize your
Slackware build with gcc $CFLAGS optimizations, & creating packages of
those optimized builds for your Slackware installation. Use Google.
You'll find exactly what you're looking for.

No, it's a problem with the *script* looking for a loop device.
Slackware is just peachy. Your script is in error.

See the HOWTO url that I pointed you to above.

You're welcome. I even managed to be nice while doing it. =)

No, its a problem linked with you or your linuxbox.
Don't you have any /dev/loopX?
