Supported CD or DVD buner

I'm looking for a recommendation for a CD or DVD burner which is supported
under Slackware 8.1 running no X. The available ports are SCSI and USB.
Since this is for logs in an enterprise, a DVD burner may be more suitable.
As someone who has no experience with Slackware, and little with Linux in
general, any help is appreciated.

go to the cdrecord homepage, take a look at the supported hardware,
pick your favorite model.

ps: slackware doens't support any hardware, your kernel does.
and cdrecord uses it.
