Why did you post this?  We already talking about it.  The Mcdouble was
invented to for what was at the time the dollar menu.  Designed to make
customer's think they were getting a good deal when in fact they were
getting screwed out of a slice of cheese.

What would the point be of getting rid of it anyway?  Even if you do't like
it, it still offers the customer another option.  And allows to add another
menu item without raising cost's.  Who knows, it might even taste pretty

and for cost-sensitive customer's there is a huge differnece, which at the
very least provides another option at minimal cost to mcdonald's to have it
available.

The McDouble used to have a 2/$3 deal, which was a total bargain. Even
without that, the McDouble *used* to have more calories per dollar than the
Double Cheeseburger. However, nowadays, the prices of both are higher, they
took the 2/$3 deal away, and have now the McValue menu (Buy One, Get Extras
for $1), which makes the Double Cheeseburger the king now.
