I am not certain, but I think that the only extra feature level 1 ISO Pascal added was the conformant array, which provided a general array passing mechanism for procedures and functions. I think the standardisation committee decided that the first Pascal standard would keep to the Jensen and Wirth version of the language. There is a later Pascal standard, ISO 10206 I think, that adds a lot of features such as separate compilation, string handling and a proper string type, complex numbers and so forth. The standard came out in about 1990. I suspect that that was probably a bit late in the life of the language for it to have much impact.
