Anyone know if there's a functional difference?

Yeah, I think it is roughly 416.99 ;-)

If you mean the LM324 vs.the LM741 (or ua741, etc.) there is little
difference in bandwidth or slew rate. The '324 has much lower input
bias current, 40 nA, temperature stabilized vs. 500 nA for the '741.
The '324 has PNP inputs so you have to current limit if the input
voltage goes below the negative rail.

Besides lower input bias current (and the '324 being a quad), the main
difference is the '324 is capable of operating from a single supply as
low as +5 volts. Although it is advertised that the output can go to
ground in the single supply mode, the device has very high output
impedance and poor pulse response in this range. Also, be careful to
respect the input common mode range.

You mean op-amps right. I dont know if this goes for 741, but max-voltage
holder ciruit didnt work with 10n C and lm324, becouse the lm324 LEAKED
CURRENT TO INPUT enoght to raise the vlotge to Vin in a couple of seconds.

It worked well on tl074.(fet input) we didnr have time to
test 741 before the labaratory class ended. I hope this helps.

324 doesnt have balancing things 741 does.
lm324 has some small unlinearities around 0v. i dont know if 741 does.

Aside from the distortion issue - LM324's also are designed to work from
a single supply exhibiting nearly rail to rail output (OK but not
great). I have built fairly descent differential amps with these guys
and single supply. If I have a dual supply available I wouldn't use
them they really are antiques.
