* Proposal * uk.freebies

For your newsgroup file:
uk.freebies / free.stuff.uk [etc... I prefer uk.freebies]

CHARTER:
This un-moderated newsgroup will be used by all those who wish to
discuss any current UK freebies, freebie sites etc. that they know of
on the internet. They will also be able to discuss whether the item has
been recieved, the quality of the item and the speed of service.

Commercial messages, binaries, or postings in HTML are not allowed in
the newsgroup. The newsgroup does not currently have a FAQ.

JUSTIFICATION:
I am aware of alt.consumers.free-stuff, but it is far too American, it is
impossible to locate UK freebies within. This NG would be for UK based
freebies only.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Gemma.

I have had a message from one supporter so far:

Rewording <rewording@aol. com>
This sounds like a great idea.

How do I know if and when the group is created? Or if it is not? ['Scuse my
ignorance - one hell of a alt.config newbie here :)]

uk.* newsgroups are proposed and discussed on uk.net.news.config.

alt.config is for discussion of alt.* newsgroups only.

You are not required to propose a free.* newsgroup.

Newsgroups are created on each news server separately, independently.

What are you trying to do ?

Have you read the FAQs, & sent a "control message" ?
