What files do I want to copy?/

My HP Laptop has, sort of, died so I'm moving to a HP Desktop and want
to move my Bookmarks over (bookmark.html I think) and my
Lightning/Calander Dates file across as well.

That file would be ............??

TIA

Copy the old profile and export your old/home calendar as ics. Then you can
add it as a new one which is more flexible. Otherwise you need to mess with
internal storage and prefs. My task 9999 will be to make this better but at
the current pace probably next life.

bookmarks.html is no longer used, except manually exported.

%profilesdir%\places.sqlite SeaMonkey 2.1 and above: History, also Bookmarks

%profilesdir%\calendar-data should be the lightning data (not tried myself)

ciao..

.... and, of course, whilst I'm at it, is there any other useful thing I
should copy across from Old to New?? ;-)

Personally I find it easier just to move the complete profile. Then just
install SeaMonkey, pick that profile and you are good to go. Just did it
a few days ago, my last Window system circa 2011 will not upgrade to
(groan) Win11, so I had to build a new system. BTW, this works moving to
another OS. Moved profiles to my Linux systems...

Windows <-> Nix* is not 1:1. There are still path fragments in the profile
which might need to be changed. Nuke at least content-prefs.sqlite which
contains among other things the last download location.

Win 11 can still be installed on older stuff with minimal effort but it still
is crap anyway. I moved to Server 2019 which has support till 2029 for now.
Fun fact is that Server 2025 has basically no install restrictions compared to
11 24H2 and can be installed on anything core i3+ probably but its taskbar and
other stuff are the same bad as 11 so I don't bother.

That is, more-or-less, what I was intending to do (if the old profiles
still exist on the Laptop) .... get both the New and Old profiles listed
under Tools -> Switch Profiles ..... and see if I can combine them from
there!!

True, but I usually clear that history before. But never found any real
function issues. have all my settings, passwords, extensions, etc.

Sad to say I had to make one tweak with the move to the new system,
installed the Standalone SeaMonkey Mail extension... This profile has
endured since the first Communicator, but I have had to change my
default browser since too many essential sites no longer work in
SeaMonkey. Designer's no longer put in the effort for gracefully falling
back for browsers that do not support or have disabled new features.

I thought MS was finally going to kill off desktop support after 2019?
Pffff, servers with desktops! It's command line only baby with my
servers, Linux rules!
