This is the public site for the named country club, yet when you go any of its sections in Firefox, all you can see is a picture, and you can't scroll below it https://www.invitedclubs.com/clubs/prestonwood-country-club It has entries near the top for Our Story, Golf, Amenities, Membership, all of them are just one picture (except Golf that has L & R buttons to see other pictures. So I thought maybe this is a problem with FF, and I looked on Edge and Chrome. Heck, it's even worse there. You can only see the top half of the picture. For Golf, the L & R buttons are gone and you can only see the sky. How come these people*** can't afford a decent webpage? "Members and nonmembers are welcome to book events with us." So the webpage is meant for everyone, not just those who log in. ***My brother lives a half block from this place, and he's a doctor and make a bunch of money, and he has an expensive house with a pool in an expensive neighborhood, though he's not interested in clubs or golf. Still I was looking at his street on the map and curious about what I had found down the block when I was visiting him.

I use FF 64-bit esr on my Win 7 Pro machine. Ads are generally blocked by AdBlock. No other extensions to FF. FF reports it is version 115.25.0 esr. Win 7 Pro still gets daily updates for the build in scanner but not for any apps, since I don't have any installed. All scripting options within FF are disabled. The web page above displays well and appears fully functional. There is a pop-up movie ad for the site that works, but had to be closed to see and use the web page underneath. BTW, I occasionally see the described misbehavior when one of the early FF Tabs has rendered a YouTube video with what can only be described as lots of drivers to disble the scroll keys and arrow buttons. This may also be YT's attempt to keep me from bypassing ads in the videos, which it hasn't figured out how to do yet. Any tabs created after the malicious drivers are installed inherit the bad behavior, especially being unable to scroll down. I get around this by closing any FF Tabs that have the behavior and just restart FF again. Problem solved. Also, I refuse to sign in to any app, even FF, that asks for user or account information. I don't share FF accounts across computers which is an easy route to infect other computers, IMHO.

Not here. I tried it using FF 130.0.4 64-bit with the add=on extensions Privacy Badger and uBlock origin fully implemented. For me, the web page responds appropriately to every hyperlink to what the hyperlink title leads me to expect. Don't know what your doing Micky. Have you tried opening your installation of FF in what's now called "troubleshoot mode" with all extensions, themes and custom settings temporarily disabled?

I almost always have youtube tabs and unless I just restarted FF, usually one of them has been opened. Now that neither windows nor FF crash much, they can both be open for 5 or more days (wiht some sleeping or hibernating in between), so almost all the time a youtube video will have run some time earlier. -- Though I don't know what you mean about disablling scroll keys and arrow buttons. The left and right arrows always work in youtube to skip backward and forward, and there are no scroll bars in full-screen mode, and in other modes the vertical scroll bar works. > This may also be >YT's attempt to keep me from bypassing ads in the videos, which it hasn't >figured out how to do yet. Hey, how do you do that? I used to use something-video-enhancer, but a couple years ago they made the author revert to an earlier version that didn't skip ads. > Any tabs created after the malicious drivers >are installed inherit the bad behavior, especially being unable to scroll >down. That would account for it, and I certainly would never have suspected Youtube. This also, I think, shows the advantage of talking to people instead of so-called AI. I doubt if any AI now or even later could have considered all the factors I brought up, (Although if it read your post, maybe it would cite it.) > I get around this by closing any FF Tabs that have the behavior and >just restart FF again. Problem solved. What I did is restart with a profile I've looked at but never used and which has no other tabs and indeed the whole website looked fine. Glad to see the country-club set is not so stupid they didn't notice that their page doesn't work. This however does not account for Chrome and Edge. In a while I'll go dowwnstairs and check that comptuer again, but those two browsers were started fresh and one didn't have any pre-existing tabs. Even though it's not FF, I'll post back about them. . >Also, I refuse to sign in to any app, even FF, that asks for user or >account information. I don't share FF accounts across computers which is >an easy route to infect other computers, IMHO. I don't sign in either, but that's largely because I have no desire to sync different instances. Just last night it wanted me to sign in for some other reason.

Same version, I should have said that, but it looks like version doesn't matter. Only I-don't-care-about-cookies and the Camelizer for add-ons. Though last night after all of this, I put in Password-toggler and Custom-Google-visited-link-olor

On the downstairs, win11, Edge loaded the pages correctly, and there were still pages loaded yesterday, which were wrong but when reloaded were fine again. OTOH, Chrome, which has only two windows, one of which has only a google search page and a wikipedia page, and the other had just one tab, not youtube, it still didn't work. Just like yesterday So I went back to FF and it didn't work either. I'm sure I could close all the other tabs or use a new profile and it would work, but not worth the effort. David, do you think the drivers Youtube loads in Firefox could also mess up webpages in Chrome and Edge. Do they use the same drivers? And could loading a youtube page in Chrome or Edge mess up FF? If so, it's a good thing it doesn't happen very often.

I don't use the cloud, though I wish I could get One Drive to stop trying to put in a startup program (Anvir notifies me and I quarentine it. I wonder if deleting it would be any better, I think it would still keep asking.) My camera is disabled in Device Manager, except if there a zoom session where I want it (and that has lots it's novelty even for the HOA meetings. I do like very much that I found out that Whatsapp will run on the PC even when the phone is not on, and I can sned and receive texts and voice calls with those who have whatsapp. In fact I'm using it right now and though I despise texting, my friend, after 50 years in the USA, still has a pretty thick French accent, but not when she writes. So with her writing is better than talking. Programs that use the regular dialar like Phone Link and My Phone Explorer are very helpful to but they do require the phone to be on.

LLMs look more human than my 1980's Eliza implementation. They (thankfully) don't understand anything yet, including what they just told you on Google. It is just advanced language manipulation. <snip>
