Many black people continue to blame white people for their struggles. In fact most violence facing black people, both in Africa and in America, is black-on-black. Then the racists among white people look at this and use it to claim blacks to be inferior.

I have heard many black people say that they want respect. You do not get respect by treating your own people like garbage. Respect starts at home. Treat your own people well, and other people will follow.

Useful here is the example of another minority group in America: the Jews. Jews in America have done well. There are any number of explanations for that; but one that I haven’t heard said is that the Jews stick up for one another. Jews are good to other Jews. Black people should stick up for other black people as well. And black people who have done well should reach out to black people who haven’t done well and show them a better way.

I have seen many good qualities in black people who were better off. They were strong. They were smart, articulate and creative. They were elegant and had an excellent taste. Other black people have a lot to learn from these people. The most important thing they stand to learn is that, just because they are black, does not mean that they have to be losers or parasites. Black people are capable of everything of which the white people are capable, and there are also many things that they can do to improve their lot.

I am not a racist. Far from it. I like to see black people do well, and I was happy when Obama became president. There are any number of black people whom I hold in high esteem. I do not like to see black people shooting themselves in the foot. Gangs and genocidal militias give black people a bad reputation. And most of the victims of these people are black.

Black people need to learn to be good to one another. Seeing that, the white people will have more reason to respect black people and treat them right.
