I've looked it up, Donkey -- and posted the proof.

Having some good reviews and a prize does not equate to "critical success."  Poe had several good reviews and a couple of prizes, but he was not a critically successful poet during his lifetime.

Of course anyone who thinks a "Perky" is a sign of critical success must think that Cohen's minor plaudits were astounding.
